More Than a Tummy Tuck
A typical tummy tuck treats just the abdomen, but many patients have excess, loose skin and/or fat that extends onto the hip and flanks. For these patients, an extended tummy tuck can be an option or extending the lift posteriorly to include the hips and flanks, otherwise termed a flankplasty. If there is only excess fat, liposuction may be another option to decrease fullness in the hip and flank area at the time of abdominoplasty.
