This 55 year old woman was unhappy with the appearance of her abdomen after having three children. She also suffered from an umbilical hernia. She underwent a full abdominoplasty with muscle plication(tightening) and removal of 8.14 pounds of excess skin and fatty tissue. At the time of surgery, she was found to have 3 ventral abdominal wall hernias which were repaired in addition to the repair of her umbilical hernia. Umbilicoplasty(creation of a new umbilicus) was required as well. She obtained an excellent result and was able to be much more physically active after her recovery. Her result could be improved by removing some of the residual excess fullness in the hip area but the patient is thrilled with her new body shape just as it is.
