Tummy Transformation with Marked Muscle Plication in Hunt Valley, Maryland

This 55 year old patient was unhappy with the shape of her abdomen despite her diligent efforts at diet and exercise. She did not have prior pregnancies but did have a long history of irritable bowel syndrome with abdominal bloating. On exam, she was found to have an extremely protuberant upper abdomen and excess skin and fat of the lower abdomen. At the time of her tummy tuck surgery, she was found to have a rectus diastasis combined with unusually thin fascia over the muscles. It was her weakened fascia that was felt to be the underlying cause of her severely protuberant tummy (without prior pregnancies) and it was completely corrected with a multi-layered muscle repair. Her final result was a significant improvement. She obtained the flat tummy that she desired.
